PROS
- Helps accelerate/ramp
- Good for getting Ghalta or Great Henge down
- Great fight target Pre 10 permanents
CONS
- Can be hard reaching Ascend
- Could be useless early if extra lands are not drawn
The Cons are a little more with this guy but the potential is there for sure. With a few tweaks getting to 10 can happen more consistently. Regisaur Alpha helps with this, a simple example of 2 for 1. You may choose to go Domri, Anarch of Bolas to get fight potential for Wayward but also another permanent.
A good all around Dino to have in for many lists though some people favor removal like Reckless Rage. I would try to keep it just Commune with Dinosaurs personally or if possible more cards that are at least 2 for 1. Then there is the potential of Wayward coming down for dirt cheap with Otepec Huntmaster and Marauding Raptor.
Wayward for a single G opens up great possibilities the following turn but maybe even that turn if a fight spell is in hand. Being able to play it with the extra land that turn from Wayward could swing things in your favor big time!
Surviving a Marauding Raptor lock, being such a cheap creature is hard to find even outside of Dinos! Pumping both Raptors while still having it left for G should be kept in mind when deciding to include or not. Overall i think there are enough positives to include this guy in many lists.
