PROS
- Increased consistency via digging for whatever is needed most
- Chance to whiff is likely less than %10 in most cases
- Great at almost any point in the game!
- Gives us a much appreciated Turn 1 play
CONS
- Not the best idea when using fewer Dinos. From something like a more Traditional Gruul list, splashing in some Dinos
Where to begin with this fabulous pick? Let’s start with an example opening hand. You mulligan twice (on the play) and keep a hand of…
- Rootbound Crag
- Unclaimed Territory
- Otepec Huntmaster
- Commune with Dinosaurs
- Rampaging Ferocidon
It would be nice going Commune for Turn 1 and locking in a third land, however that’s simply not possible. Rootbound followed by Unclaimed gets Otepec and if still no third land by Turn 3, Commune could just dig for it then while still playing the Rampaging Ferocidon for 2CMC. While this isn’t exactly ideal it would be pretty reasonable, especially against something where lifegain matters!
Something else great could have come up with the draw on Turn 2 or Turn 3 that may have changed things drastically! maybe getting lucky drawing a Marauding Raptor to get more cost reduction?
Overall increasing consistency and being great at any point should make you think about adding this in if you haven’t already!
Itís hard to find knowledgeable people for this topic, however, you sound like you know what youíre talking about! Thanks
Thankyou! I dont write as much as i would like here but for the most part everything should stand the test of time. Look forawd to mroe in the future and make sure to check out my YouTube Channel! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmV4oZ4VeNXmGkjt8vcrZMA If you haven’t already. I’ll keep on playing them forever possibly!
Just discovered this place and exploring it. Seems cool, and really liked the pros and cons of the card. I’d like to see this with more cards!
Hello! Glad you found it 🙂
I’ve always wanted to do a website to support my channel and slowly but surly ill keep adding write ups.
I will definitely do more of the PROs and Cons at the start of each card write up. A nice easy way to keep track of why or why not a card might be good.
